Cameras Now Detect Phone Use While Driving

Cameras Now Detect Phone Use While Driving

Be aware that from July 1st, cameras across NSW now detect mobile phone use while driving. Fines start at $330 and carry 4 demerit points.

NSW is the first state in Australia to introduce these laws, and according to initial testing on the Harbour Bridge, 750 drivers were detected within a six-hour period.

It is LEGAL to use your phone if it is in a mount which is fixed to the vehicle and doesn’t obscure your view of the road.

The best mounts in Australia are by Stag Automotive.

Wow that is crazy. Just bought 4 for my family, they look great and I agree much safer for everyone instead of looking down at the phone whenever we receive a text or call.
